The Purpose of this skills program is to provide learners with the standards required to satisfy the challenges of participating effectively in the building construction industry.
The range of typical learners include persons involved in the placing and cementing of manufactured brick/block size units to construct a range of structures and elements. Typical job roles would include:
- Brick Layer
- Block Layer
25 Days / or 20 Days (Limited)

Formative assessment: Evidence of performance will be collected continuously as Learners progress and will be considered in the final determination of the learners capabilities.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
– Apply health & safety to a work area
– Set out and prepare construction masonry work areas
– Set out, excavate, cast concrete, strip foundations and build foundation walling
– Build masonry superstructures using solid units
