Course Objective

This program is designed to provide learners with basic garment construction skills applicable to the clothing and textile industry.

Target Audience

All employees interested in garment construction and to be trained as learner machinist.

– Evidence of performance will be collected continuously as learner progress and will be considered in the final determination of the learner’s capabilities.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Basic Sewing: Includes training fee, registration and administration fee, certificate, manual,fabric, zip, buttons, thread, interfacing, sewing kit and sewing machine. Cut & sew a blouse and skirt with at least 15 sewing operations. Seams, seam finishes, closures, facings, pockets, pressing, etc.
  • Basic Pattern Making: Taking measurements, drafting basic block patterns for ladies, mens and children using the award winning  X!act Design Patternmaker.
  • Pattern Design: Adapting basic block patterns and creating style patterns. Blouses, shirts, collars, sleeves, skirts, trousers, waistbands and pockets.
